Pacific Medical Centers Business Office Specialist - South End Clinics in Federal Way, Washington

This is a .5 FTE (20 hours per week) position and is eligible for benefits. This position will cover our Renton, Puyallup and Federal Way locations.

We are seeking a Business Office Specialist to perform and complete tasks to check in an check out patients, complete patient registration and schedule routine appointments. The Business Office Specialist will also start the referral entry for subsequent patient appointments.

In this position you will:

  • Answer, record and route incoming telephone calls

  • Register new patients, complete demographic and financial fields in the IDX registration system

  • Schedule appointments, routine diagnostic tests and interpreters

  • Prepare insurance forms and respond to insurance requests

  • Collect and post co-payment and other payments

  • Verify cash reconciliation and prepare receipts for bank deposits


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • One (1) year customer service experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Healthcare experience in ambulatory practice

  • Experience in liaison role for providers and staff

  • Experience with coding: ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS

  • Patient third party billing and referrals experience on an automated patient accounts system
