We are seeking a Medical Assistant – PMC Certified - Refill Coordinator to complete the refill process for an assigned group of providers under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols.
In this position you will:
Communicate with pharmacies, insurance carriers and patients to ensure refills of medications are completed timely and accurately.
Document all refills in the practice management system or EMR, and tracks all communication and refills.
May also be responsible for injections and walk-in nurse visits.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting program, high school diploma or equivalent.
Graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
Currently licensed to practice in Washington as a certified MA or LPN- Interim MA Certification accepted upon hire; medical assistant certified credential required within six months of hire.
Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire
Successful completion of PMC MA Module Training, verified by Trainer, Supervisor, Provider and Clinic Supervisor.
Computer skills, including typing, email, word-processing.
Two (2) years of recent experience in a patient care setting.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Three (3) years of recent MA experience in a patient care setting.
Experience with medication refills.
Recent experience in an out-patient setting.
Demonstrated application of excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal communication/interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to type, utilize practice management system,
Knowledge of medications, including side and therapeutic effects
Ability to use Fax, e-mail, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to attend to details, prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
Experience using an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
