Pacific Medical Centers Business Office Specialist - Puyallup Primary Care in Puyallup, Washington

We are seeking a Business Office Specialist to enter incoming and outgoing referrals, collects and posts cash, performs, central banker processes, provides routine financial counseling to patients, researches routine referral and billing issues, and may complete coding for referrals.

In this position you will:

  • Provide referral entry and patient accounts research

  • Prepare insurance forms and respond to insurance requests

  • Collect and post co-payment and other payments

  • Verify cash reconciliation and prepare receipts for bank deposits

  • Register new patients, completing demographic and financial fields in the IDX registration system

  • Schedule appointments, rountine diagnotic tests and interpreters


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of PMC's the Medical Terminology Test for BOS/PSR/PAR Staff with a passing score within 90 days of hire

  • One (1) year customer service experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Healthcare experience in ambulatory practice

  • Experience in liaison role for providers and staff

  • Experience with coding: ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS

  • Patient third party billing and referrals experience on an automated patient accounts system
