Medical Assistants at Pacific Medical Centers perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in accordance with state law, placing emphasis on quality of care and customer service. These duties include preparing patients for examination; assisting with the administration of medications and with minor procedures, performing some diagnostic testing, obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, educating patients, handling clerical, environmental, organizational and other related tasks as assigned.

In this position you will:

  • Manages patient inquiries by gathering clinical data. Has the ability to prioritize work and follow through.

  • Telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge.

  • Assist with EHR In-basket management

  • Procedures for sterilizing equipment and instruments.

  • Administer intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections. Administered only by unit or single dosage, or by adosage calculated and verified by a health care practitioner. For purposes of this section, a combination or multidosevaccine shall be considered a unit dose. Limited to legend drugs, vaccines, and Schedule III-V controlled substances asauthorized by a health care practitioner under the scope of his or her license.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Coursework/Training - Successful completion of a nationally accredited medical assistant program.

  • Washington State Certified Medical Assistant or Interim Certified Medical Assistant (certification within six month of hirerequired).

  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers, or certification within one month of hire.

  • Successful completion of PMC MA Module Training, verified by Trainer, Supervisor, and Provider within 12 months of hire.
