This is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) position with our Compliance department and is eligible for full benefits.
We are seeking a Coding Compliance Educator to be responsible for achieving and maintaining provider coding accuracy and completeness at the levels required by the yearly Corporate Compliance Work Plan. The Coding Compliance Educator will work directly with new providers to educate, monitor their compliance to coding and reimbursement standards and to develop work programs so requirements are met.
In this position you will:
Provide education to providers, clinic coding and CBS staff.
Strengthen the CPT and ICD-10 coding associated with the documentation of all services through instructional classes.
Optimize reimbursement from third parties for service through accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding; and ensure appropriate medical record documentation supports billed charges.
Develop and perform new provider orientation, and annual training on PMC’s coding, and audit process and documentation standards.
Support Auditing Supervisor and Compliance Manager in instruction of coding education classes provided to providers, clinic support staff and Business Office Staff.
Assist the Auditing Supervisor and Compliance Manager in developing policies, procedures and training materials related to the education and compliance of all staff levels.
Work collaboratively with Coding Analysts.
Share knowledge and provide support for team within regards to audits, coding, documentation, and provider feedback.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in health care related field.
Hold and maintain CPC, CCS-P or CMC coding certification.
Obtain and maintain ACS E/M or CPC-EM or CPMA auditing certification within 6 (six) months of hire.
Five years health care experience in a physician group practice or other ambulatory care setting.
Minimum of five years of coding experience for a multi-specialty group and a score of at least 90% on PMC’s Coding Competency Test.
Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting provider education and audits.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License and current auto insurance.
Excellent driving record, minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
Demonstrated expertise in current multi-specialty CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC coding principles and practices.
