We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to provide support to the USFHP Compliance & Privacy Program under the direction of the USFHP Executive Director. This position may participate in daily operations of the Program
In this position you will:
Institutes, oversees, and monitors the implementation and maintenance of the US Family Health Plan compliance program. Responsibilities include creating annual compliance work plans that establish a culture of compliance, and provide a framework that integrates and coordinates the compliance efforts of USFHP, promote reporting, and empower staff with a heightened awareness and understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
Works with USFHP management team to develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
Interprets and advises on the application of Tricare Operations Manual, Tricare Policy Manual, state, and federal laws such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act), Privacy Act, HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health), Stark, anti-kickback, fraud, waste and abuse, and antitrust.
Advises management on, maintains current knowledge of and consistently applies USFHP and departmental policy and procedural standards related to compliance.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years compliance/privacy experience in a healthcare setting.
Three (3) years Information Security, Health Information Management, Accreditation Services, or Revenue Cycle Services in lieu of direct Compliance/Privacy experience.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Business or health-related field
Coursework/Training Healthcare compliance certification, (CHC)
Certified in Healthcare Compliance, Healthcare Privacy Compliance, Healthcare Privacy & Security, Compliance & Ethics Professional, Other healthcare related certifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Certifications and licenses must be maintained current.
