Pacific Medical Centers Endoscopy Technician in Seattle, Washington

Administers direct hands-on patient care under the supervision of RN and Provider. Assists the Gastroenterology physician and RN during diagnostic procedures. Responds to emergency situations as directed and per the needs of the patient. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards for the ASC

In this position you will:

  • Assist nursing and physician staff with direct patient care by assisting patients to procedure room, prepare patient areas for ASC care, following universal precautions and sterile technique, and help to discharge patients.

  • Perform a range of diagnostic support duties which include monitoring patient vital signs and reporting deviations in a timely manner, gross visual observation of patients and reporting changes in condition to nursing staff or provider, and initiation of CPR when needed

  • Record a variety of Gastroenterology procedures as ordered by the provider and performed under the clinical direction of the nurse or physician

  • Assist with collecting lab specimens; labels specimens, prepares requisitions, and performs tests


Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program

  • Successful completion of the SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) Associates program.

  • Currently licensed to practice in Washington as a certified MA or LPN.

  • Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two years experience within a medical setting
