The Medical Assistant Apprentice is entering into a WA DOL registered Apprenticeship program with Pacific Medical Centers, in conjunction with the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC).

This is a full time Apprenticeship (40 hours per week) and will be eligible for full benefits.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for providing direct patient care and will practice up to the skills learned and approved to practice through the Apprentice program guidelines

  • Apply current healthcare concepts and assist with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly and indirectly to patient care under the supervision of the MA-C or Provider.

  • Participates in all aspects of the medical assistance process under the guidance of the MA-C Coach and within the scope of the MA Apprentice education

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS as certified by the American Heart Association. (May be completed within the first 30 days of employment.).

  • Completion of 2,000 hours of clinical practice under the guidance of the MA Coach, 364 hours of coursework (unpaid), 3 skills labs (unpaid) and participate in all required apprenticeship activities

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning date of the MA Apprentice program

The Beacon Hill clinic is conveniently located near the intersection of I-5 and I-90 in central Seattle. Beacon Hill offers both primary care—including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Geriatrics—and more than a dozen different areas of specialty care. Home to The Diagnostic and Wellness Center for Women, Beacon Hill offers digital mammography, breast ultrasound, MRI and biopsy as well as therapeutic massage. Other services offered at Beacon Hill include an anticoagulation clinic, infusion therapy, x-ray, onsite laboratory and pharmacy. Interpreter services are also available for our patients.
