We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant II to support ophthalmology and optometry providers ensuring quality patient care and optimal customer service. The Ophthalmic Assistant will obtain initial patient assessments by recording pertinent medical history, visual acuity and performing specialized technical procedures. They will also perform clerical duties to maintain effective office operations and patient services; manage the usage, disposal, and replenishment of supplies necessary for an efficiently run clinic.
In this position you will:
Assist providers with direct patient care by assisting patients to appropriate treatment areas, prepare patient areas for examination, help with patient exams and procedures, following universal precautions and sterile technique, and help to discharge patients.
Performs Basic patient screening and procedures, and physician assisting
Use computer, including EMR to schedule patients and manage patient information
Receives patients and ensures the completion of all necessary clerical work; obtains changes in patient information and inputs into the computer system
Makes appointments for patients according to current guidelines, ensuring timely and efficient use of provider time
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Current Washington State MA registration within 60 days of hire
Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire
One (1) year eye care setting experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Current Washington State MA certification
