Pacific Medical Centers Ophthalmic Assistant III in Seattle, Washington
Find what you’re looking for in your career, at PacMed as a Ophthalmic Assistant III. This is a per diem, day shift position that will rotate between clinics in the Seattle area.
We are seeking a Ophthalmic Assistant III to support ophthalmology and optometry providers ensuring quality patient care and optimal customer service. Obtains initial patient assessment by recording pertinent medical history, visual acuity and performing specialized technical procedures. Performs clerical duties to maintain effective office operations and patient services; manages the usage, disposal, and replenishment of supplies necessary for an efficiently run clinic.
In this position you will:
Assists providers with direct patient care by assisting patients to appropriate treatment areas, prepare patient areas for examination, help with patient exams and procedures, following universal precautions and sterile technique, and help to discharge patients.
Receives patients and ensures the completion of all necessary clerical work; obtains changes in patient information and inputs into the computer system.
Makes appointments for patients according to current guidelines, ensuring timely and efficient use of provider time.
Performs initial determination of appointment urgency (urgent, acute, routine) and makes appointments accordingly.
Discards contaminated and disposable items after use in diagnostic or surgical procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
2 years eye care setting
Current Washington State MA registration within 60 days of hire
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA, COT) within 6 months of hire, or US/International Ophthalmologist MD, or US/ International OD Optometrist.
Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
Preferred qualification for this position include:
