We are seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to be responsible for overseeing all procurement, receipt, medication storage, medication security, preparation, and distribution of clinic-administered medications for the Pacific Medical Center Infusion Pharmacy Services locations.
In this position you will:
Under general direction, as the pharmacist in charge for PMC Infusion Pharmacy Services, the Infusion Services Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all procurement, receipt, medication storage, medication security, preparation, and distribution of clinic-administered medications for the Pacific Medical Center Infusion Pharmacy Services location site(s) as assigned; ensures that Infusion Pharmacy Services provide optimal service as it relates to medication administration; meeting all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements; complying with all applicable policies & procedures, codes and standards of practice.
Responsible for sterile preparation of chemotherapy/oncology medications and other infusible medications appropriate in an ambulatory care infusion center in a clinic setting. Verifies and assists physicians with medication selection, formula preparations, dosage calculations as well as maintaining accurate dispensing records and patient records for each patient that is cared for by the infusion unit.
Ensure accurate and quality pharmacy practice and customer service are provided in a professional manner and in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards; adhering to related guidelines and regulations.
Provide functional supervision of professional, para-professional, and/or support staff as needed in the infusion pharmacy and performs other duties as required including planning and directing work and responsibility, through direct reporting and in partnership with the Pharmacy Compliance Manager and Infusion Services leadership.
Required qualifications for this position include :
Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Washington State Board or Pharmacy, Department of Health.
Critical Point Compounding certification completed at hire or immediately following.
Rx Compounding Quality Control program certification completed at hire of immediately following.
Successful completion of training in the specialized functions of preparing and dispensing compunded parenteral products as prescribed in WAC 246-871, USP Chapter 797 and USP Chapter 800, including the principles of aseptic technique and quality assurance.
Five years professional experience as a Pharmacist; or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent and provides the required knowledge, abilities, skills and license.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with compliance, pharmacy financial reconciliation, patient or provider education, primary care and specialty clinic functions, and or infusion services.
One year related pharmacy infusion experience.
Leadership or management experience.
