This position will primarily work on Monday and Friday, 10 hour shifts each.
We are seeking a Clinical RN, Certified Specialist who will provide professional nursing care as directed by the Washington State Nurse Practice Act and Pacific Medical Centers policies, procedures, and protocols, i.e., provides primary and specialty health care services in collaboration with other members of the health care team while integrating clinical, teaching, consulting, care coordination/case management, and leadership nursing roles.
In this position you will:
Assess patient needs, develop a plan of care, delivers direct care, evaluates outcome of care, and adjusts plan and subsequent interventions accordingly
Administers medications within the scope of registered nursing practice
Delivers RN-administered patient care services following Pacific Medical Centers approved protocols e.g., anti-coagulation therapy, suture removal, care of the adult female with dysuria, pregnancy counseling, sore throat, etc
Reviews laboratory values and responds appropriately, e.g., orders blood products PRN, adjusts EPO doses per clinical pathway, and initiates neutropenic or bleeding precautions PRN
Conducts comprehensive educational assessments, matches teaching methods to defined learning objectives, and develops teaching plans for individual patients and target population groups
Triages patients, both in-person and by phone, to ensure timely access to appropriate health care services
Functions as a liaison between patients, providers and community agencies; obtains support services for patients (i.e., nursing homes, home health care agencies, visiting services and other community agencies)
Delegates clinical and non-clinical tasks to designated health care team members according to Pacific Medical Centers approved scope of practice guidelines
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree (Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma) from an accredited school of nursing.
Currently licensed to practice in Washington State.
Basic Life Support certification.
One year recent RN experience in a patient care setting.
Airway management/cardiac monitoring proficiency utilizing ACLS protocol
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two plus years recent RN experience in a patient care setting
Three to five years recent experience in a setting treating cardiac patients
