Pacific Medical Centers RN Certified Specialist, ASC - Madison Ambulatory Surgery in Seattle, Washington

Description:

PacMed is looking for a Registered Nurse - Certified Specialist, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Madison Ambulatory Surgery at Pacific Medical Centers - First Hill Madison in Seattle, WA.

The Clinic RN provides professional nursing care as directed by the Washington State Nurse Practice Act and Pacific Medical Centers policies, procedures, and protocols; i.e. provides primary and specialty health care services in collaboration with other members of the health care team while integrating the nursing roles of clinical, teaching, consulting, care coordination/case management, and leadership.

In this position you will:

  • Assess patient GI and Pain Management procedure needs, develop a plan of care for each patient, deliver direct care, evaluate outcome of care, and adjust plan and subsequent interventions accordingly .

  • Assist providers during endoscopic and pain procedures.

  • Triage patients, both in person and by phone to prepare patients timely access to the ASC.

  • Provide patient ASC preparation information, advice and health care teaching to patients and their families in person or via telephone as part of the ASC pre-admitting process.

  • Administer medications within the scope of registered nursing practice, including emergency medications.

  • Support the operations of the department by assisting with clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • Nursing degree (Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma) from an accredited school of nursing

  • Currently licensed to practice nursing in Washington State

  • Training in conscious sedation and equipment used within the ASC department

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Three (3) years of recent RN experience in an in-patient care or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting

  • Three (3) years of recent experience in an ASC or acute care setting: Critical care, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Recovery Room, Endoscopy, GI Lab

Preferred qualifications :

  • Training in equipment and instrument Sterilization.

  • Training in sterile technique.

  • Certification in specialty preferred. (CCRN Certification, CNOR Certification, or CGRN Certification).
