Find what you’re looking for in your career, at PacMed as a Surgery Scheduler (20 hours Per Week, Day Shift) to our Madison Cardiology department in Seattle , WA.
We are seeking a Surgery Scheduler to work in conjunction with an RN/provider to ensure quality patient care and optimum customer service. Provides routine and complex financial counseling to patients, researches routine and complex referral and billing issues and completes routine and complex encounter form coding for all surgical cases.
In this position you will:
Schedules surgeries, urgent referrals and procedures
Obtains surgery authorizations from insurance companies, or explains the payment options to the patient and/or patient’s family, if the surgery is not authorized
Works with provider to ensure all coding requirements are obtained
Prepare surgical charts with required information to meet scheduling deadlines
Obtains necessary test results and diagnostic films for surgical charts
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Health care or insurance experience, with a minimum of 1 year ambulatory practice experience
Minimum 1 year experience with coding ICD9, CPT, and HCPCS
Minimum 1 year third party billing and referrals experience
Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with Windows, Word, Excel
One (1) year comparable experience in an outpatient care setting

The First Hill clinic is conveniently located east of I-5 in central Seattle. Services offered at First Hill include ambulatory surgery, cardiovascular and echocardiography labs, infusion therapy, x-ray, onsite laboratory and pharmacy. Interpreter services are also available for our patients.
