We are seeking a Surgery Scheduler to work in conjunction with an RN/provider to ensure quality patient care and optimum customer service.
In this position you will:
Schedule surgeries, urgent referrals and procedures
Obtain surgery authorizations from insurance companies, or explain the payment options to the patient and/or patient’s family, if the surgery is not authorized
Prepare surgical charts with required information to meet scheduling deadlines
Assist manager, team coordinator, and/or clinic coordinator in facilitating patient care services i.e.: interpreter services, community clinics, diagnostic imaging and Dynacare
Obtain necessary test results and diagnostic films for surgical charts
Coordinate with hospital and/or contracted provider to schedule surgical cases
Work with patients to coordinate check in times and pre-op instructions for surgery
Required qualifications for this position include:
Health care or insurance experience, with a minimum of 1 year ambulatory practice experience.
Basic computer skills.
Minimum 1 year third party billing and referrals experience.
Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with Windows, Word, Excel.
One year comparable experience in an outpatient care setting.
