Find what you’re looking for in your career, at PacMed as a Surgery Scheduler (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to the Madison Podiatry in Seattle, WA.
The Surgery Scheduler will work in conjunction with an RN/provider to ensure quality patient care and optimum customer service. Provide routine and complex financial counseling to patients, researches routine and complex referral and billing issues and completes routine and complex encounter form coding for all surgical cases.
In this position you will:
Schedule surgeries, urgent referrals and procedures
Obtain surgery authorizations from insurance companies, or explains the payment options to the patient and/or patient’s family, if the surgery is not authorized
Work with provider to ensure all coding requirements are obtained
Prepare surgical charts with required information to meet scheduling deadlines
Obtain necessary test results and diagnostic films for surgical charts
Required qualifications for this position include:
Health care or insurance experience
One (1) year ambulatory practice experience
One (1) year experience with coding ICD9, CPT, and HCPCS
One (1) year third party billing and referrals experience
Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with Windows, Word, Excel.
One (1) year comparable experience in an outpatient care setting
