The Vascular Tech is responsible for performing basic history and physical pre-exam, as well as non-invasive exam and evaluation at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent assumes responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of ultrasound equipment.

Weekdays only and no after hours call! This position does require travel between our North Puget Sound clinics located in Northgate and Canyon Park (Bothell) locations.

In this position you will:

  • Performing basic history and physical pre-exam, as well as non-invasive exam and evaluation at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent assumes responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of ultrasound equipment.

  • Performs Vascular Studies including but not limited to: • Carotid Scans • Transcranial Scans • Venous Scans • Abdominal Scans • Arterial Scans• ABIs and physiological stress tests • Graft/Stent Scans • Prepares results to review with physicians

  • Performs same day and emergent add-ons as required

  • Compares evaluation to previous evaluations as necessary

  • Interprets the findings of each exam and is able to accurately report the findings in a preliminary report format in a timely manner upon completion of the study

  • Ensures that all referring providers are notified with findings for all same day emergent add-ons; notifies the referring provider with all emergent findings on all patients.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Coursework/ Training in Completion of an accredited allied health education program for vascular ultrasound.

  • Knowledge of ultrasonic diagnostic procedures.

  • Must be knowledgeable of the principles, practices, and techniques of vascular sonography

  • Must have sufficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to vascular examinations.

  • Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.

  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.

  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with peers, physicians, and other staff members.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills required.

  • Ability to work in a high volume environment while maintaining high quality standards.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of Clinical vascular experience

Licenses and Certification qualifications for this position include:

  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification or registry-eligible status.

  • Must have a current CPR certification.
